For our thriller film, we decided to form a detailed breakdown of our audience, and ask members of a potential audience for feedback on the idea for our thriller film. Here are the results:

Screenplay Analysis

Writing a screenplay isn't easy without an appropriate guide. Therefore, I'm using this extract from the Guardians of the Galaxy Screenplay to help me learn how to write my own.

Here, the font used is courier typeface, which is universally used so that each page of screenplay lasts for around a minute. The characters' names are written in capitals, and their speech is written underneath. Then, on the next line, the actions of the characters onscreen are described to ensure that the speech goes along with exactly what is happening onscreen, and to make sure that everything is planned accurately.

When writing my screenplay, I will set it out in this format so that my film is accurately planned.

Lighting Practice

Here are the lighting practice shots we took, to practice different lighting for our thriller film.

Natural Lighting: This means no artificial lighting was used for these shots.

Dimmed Lighting: The natural lighting in this picture was dimmed down for a much darker effect.

Artificial Lighting: Lighting using the electric lights in the room.

We also used natural lighting to create more shadows on the subject.

For my after effects test, I focussed on creating a film ident for our company, Temporal Studios. I used my graphics tablet to draw the writing for the logo.
