Colour Editing Tutorial

For our thriller film, we wanted to have a unique colour scheme where we highlighted all red colours and dulled the rest of the colours in the footage. To create this, I used this video, which showed me exactly how to create what I wanted to do.



Using the 'Leave Color' function in After Effects and 'Levels' to highlight the reds further, here is the finished result:

Filming Day 4

FILMING DAY 4:

On our final day of filming, we went to Old Tupton Woods to film the scene where Lilith ditches Rosa's body. The actual scene was filmed at night, but we filmed it at golden hour so that we could darken the footage as required. Also, we filmed the scenes where Rosa and Lilith are being a happy couple which contrast the violence of the fight scene.

Filming Day 3

FILMING DAY 3:

For day three of filming, we decided to film at Amy's house so that she could film her role as the woman framed for Rosa's murder: Catherine. We filmed in her kitchen so that we could have as much natural light as possible in our shots, which resulted in great quality filming of both close-up and other shots. We've begun to edit our work already, so that our work will be finished on time.

Filming Day 2

FILMING DAY 2:

We're already very ahead of shooting schedule, but today we filmed the kitchen scene and the fight scene, with Rosa and Lilith. This scene definitely is going to take the longest to film, in ensuring that we had all the camera shots we needed in order to edit it successfully. Plus, we had to stop to apply the fake blood makeup halfway through, to make the fight look realistic.

Filming Day 1

FILMING DAY 1:

For filming day 1, we filmed in my bedroom the first and second scenes. These included Lilith waking up and fixing their hair and makeup, and the scenes in the past with Lilith stalking Rosa's Facebook account, receiving a text, then leaving the scene. These were definitely going to be the easiest scenes to film in terms of accessibility and having a clear idea of exactly which camera shots were needed.

Mise-En-Scene

For my film, I created a giant board as the main character's 'brag board', where they place all newspaper cuttings and pictures of victims to boost their ego.

Facebook Page

For our thriller film, we needed to create a fake Facebook profile of Rosa for Lilith to scroll through as they're shown to evidently be stalking her in the beginning. To do this, we used pictures of the actress, created it early and gradually added posts to make it look realistic.

Prop List

In our thriller, we need an extensive list of props to ensure that our final film looks realistic. These include:

• Fake blood

These are the most important pieces we need to film with, and we'll work on sourcing them for our thriller.
